I had been planning a bathroom renovation for the past year, when it was time to hire someone I interviewed multiple contractors. Some of them came to my home and gave me a price and some did it over the phone. Allen showed up, very professional, on time. He called to confirm and We discussed my job and what I wanted done he was very knowledgeable andI just had a good feeling about him. He sent me an estimate which I felt was fair and reasonable, and I hired him. The job started on July 21 and was completed on July 30. His foreman is Ken and he is amazing. 🤩 If a little problem came up, there was a solution. The job is beautiful. Please see the pictures. My house over the years has withstood hurricanes and other storms. In 2004 we were hit with 3 hurricanes in 6 weeks- Frances (cat 2), Ivan (cat 3) and Jeanne (cat 3). Our house had major damage. Florida, officially known as the “Sunshine State,” was dubbed the “Plywood State” by media because of all the damage. To repair the house we had to deal with contractors that were incompetent , promised the world and did not come back the next day, charged inflated prices or took your rmoney and disappeared. I have dwelt with the worst of worst contractors and have become skeptical and have developed a very cautious attitude toward any contractors. But A Better Look Home Services and Allen Richards is not one of those contractors. I recently hired Allen to handle a bunch of issues that had accumulated at my house over the years including, mold remediation in the attic, repairing garage and utility room ceilings and replacing two cabinets, replacing exterior door going to our pool area, replacing a toilet, replacing three ceiling fans, and remodeling our master bathroom and changing a roman bath to walking in shower. The best part of Allen’s job is the value he brings to the work done. He is honest, responds quickly, shows up on time, always concerned about saving you money when ever possible. From initial contact Allen Richards was the consummate professional. Really rare these days in Florida that a contractor follows through on everything they say. Both Allen and his employees are knowledgeable about many different types of home repairs. His years of experience as a contractor really shows! A Better Look Home Services have provided the best service and workmanship that I have seen in South Florida. Good bye 1986, hello 2025! Good part- They got both bathrooms in 2 weeks and within my budget. Bad part- they are in a rush and you have to point out wherever there are flaws that need fixing. I wasn’t home when they completed my guest bath and I had to call them back for some cosmetic touch ups day after completion. I asked (because they didn’t call me prior to installing) if he could hang the light and mirror higher about 4 inches so my 6’3 husband didn’t have to hunch to look in the mirror and he flipped out on me and said no. I paid him in full yesterday and this is the way I get treated after. Not cool.
